Franklin High School
Sparrows Point 1
The JV girls extended their win streak with a tough 2-1 victory over Sparrows Point. Sparrows Point got on the board first after a goal mouth scramble and got the ball past freshman Abby Burgess who was playing in her first game as goalie. Franklin did not back down though and sophomore Kate Lorber scored off a penalty corner; the rebound from Chelsea Coleman's initial shot came out to the top of circle and Lorber's perfectly placed drive into the corner of the goal hit with a resounding bang against the backboard. The game was tied at 1-1 at half time.
Franklin continued to press in the second half and their hardwork paid off when Kate Lorber scored the game winner - her second goal of the game. The ball came across the goal from the right and she was open on the far post and hit it home! Beautiful passing and great positioning from everyone.
